2013 was a very active year for office space leasing in New York City. For the first time since the economic collapse, demand for high-end Class A office product finally began to percolate. While there were only a handful of commercial real estate deals with triple digit rents between 2009 and 2012, 2013 had dozens. Buildings such as 510 Madison Avenue, 660 Madison Avenue, 375 Park Avenue (The Seagram Building), 767 Fifth Avenue (GM Building), 712 Fifth Avenue and 9 West 57th Street have each attracted multiple deals with tenants willing to pay up.
